Foodservice operators are getting creative with their dessert menus by introducing limited-time treats that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Taco Bell, a Yum! Brands subsidiary, has teamed up with ice cream company Salt & Straw to launch two new limited-time offerings. The churro ice cream taco features a waffle cone shell filled with churro ice cream, topped with puffed rice and a dark chocolate coating. The choco-waffle chiller blends vanilla ice cream with churro crumbles and waffle cone pieces, encased in a chocolatey shell. While the ice cream taco is available nationwide, the chiller can only be found at Taco Bell Live Mas Cafes for a limited time.

According to Liz Matthews, global chief food innovation officer at Taco Bell, “The churro ice cream taco builds on everything fans loved about the original collaboration, with a flavor that feels right at home on our menu.”

Zaxbys, a Southern-inspired chain, has partnered with Nerds candy to introduce the Nerds strawberry milkshake. This limited-time offering combines a strawberry milkshake with Nerds candy pieces, whipped cream, rainbow Nerds, and Nerds Gummy Clusters.

Patrick Schwing, chief marketing and strategy officer at Zaxbys, stated, “The pairing creates a crave-worthy treat that brings nostalgic candy flavors together with the creamy indulgence of a hand-spun Zaxbys strawberry milkshake.”

Hardee’s, a subsidiary of CKE Restaurant Holdings, Inc., has launched a s’mores-inspired menu featuring the s’mores ice cream shake, s’mores fried pie, and s’mores iced coffee. Sarah Breymaier, vice president of brand marketing at Hardee’s, explained, “Our new s’mores platform keeps those warm, nostalgic summer moments alive.”
