Crazy Mountain Receives $15 Million Investment

George Clooney, along with the founders of Casamigos, recently launched a nonalcoholic beer called Crazy Mountain. The brand has just secured a $15 million investment, with Cavu Consumer Partners leading the funding round. Other participants include Coatue, Discovery Land, and of course, the brand’s founders George Clooney, Mike Meldman, and Rande Gerber.

The nonalcoholic brew, which debuted in March, is set to release its classic lager and lime varieties later this year. CEO Steve Fechheimer, who previously worked at New Belgium Brewing, is leading the charge for Crazy Mountain.

Investors are optimistic about the success of Crazy Mountain, especially considering the track record of Clooney, Meldman, and Gerber with Casamigos. The trio founded Casamigos in 2013 and later sold it to Diageo for a substantial sum.

“Non-alcoholic beer is a rapidly growing category in the beverage industry, and there is still plenty of room for growth,” said Ben Schwerin, a general partner at Coatue. “With the experienced team behind Crazy Mountain, we believe they have what it takes to make a significant impact in this space.”

As consumer preferences shift towards moderation, more companies are entering the nonalcoholic beer market. Celebrities like Tom Holland, John Mulaney, and Charlie Sheen have also joined the trend. Major players like Heineken and Molson Coors are expanding their nonalcoholic offerings to cater to this growing demand.
