Nestlé USA Introduces Gerberlyte for Pediatric Rehydration

Nestlé USA is expanding the Gerber brand into the pediatric rehydration market with the launch of Gerberlyte. This electrolyte drink is designed to treat mild-to-moderate dehydration in children aged one to three. With a focus on providing a trusted hydration option for parents, Gerberlyte offers a solution without artificial ingredients or colors, meeting the growing demand for cleaner products.

Developed by Nestlé’s global R&D team, Gerberlyte is the first USDA Organic-certified pediatric oral rehydration solution made with coconut water and 25% daily value of zinc per 12-fluid-ounce serving. Available in strawberry kiwi, berry blend, and tropical punch flavors, Gerberlyte aims to address the needs of fussy children and active kids, hydrating faster than traditional beverages.

Launching nationwide this month, Gerberlyte will be offered in 32-fluid-ounce multiserve bottles and four-packs of 4-fluid-ounce bottles. This expansion into the pediatric rehydration space is part of Nestlé’s broader efforts to revitalize the century-old Gerber brand and cater to the changing preferences of modern parents.

Alongside the introduction of Gerberlyte, Nestlé is also reimagining its existing portfolio of purees, cereals, toddler meals, and snacks. By reducing added sugars, removing artificial preservatives, and simplifying ingredients, the brand is aligning with the evolving demands of consumers. New packaging displaying ingredients, nutritional benefits, and certified quality claims will further enhance transparency for parents seeking wholesome options for their children.

As Nestlé CEO Philipp Navratil expressed a commitment to revitalizing the Gerber brand, the company remains focused on driving growth and innovation within the infant nutrition category. With a strategic rollout plan for Gerberlyte and a renewed emphasis on product quality and transparency, Nestlé is poised to meet the needs of modern families and continue its legacy as a trusted provider of nutrition for children.
