General Mills Names Dana McNabb Chief Operating Officer

General Mills has announced the promotion of Dana McNabb to chief operating officer, effective June 1. McNabb, who currently serves as the group president of North America retail, will continue her responsibilities overseeing the company’s North America pet segment. In her new role, McNabb will be responsible for overseeing global operating segments, key functions such as innovation, supply chain, strategy, and growth.

McNabb, who started at General Mills in 1999, has worked across various major businesses within the company, including cereal, snacks, meals, and dairy. This promotion positions her as a potential successor to CEO Jeff Harmening in the future.

General Mills is facing challenges amid a decline in consumer spending, with shoppers pushing back against price increases. The company recently reported a 3% drop in organic sales and has responded by cutting prices on a majority of its grocery products in North America to attract consumers.

Harmening praised McNabb as a disciplined and strategic leader, highlighting her efforts to reinvigorate the company’s brands and drive profitable growth. He expressed confidence in her ability to lead global operations effectively and deliver value to General Mills and its shareholders.
