Nestlé is increasing its investment in Mexico to $2 billion, recognizing the country’s growth opportunities and significance for the company’s operations.

Nestlé, with almost a century of presence in Mexico, plans to invest an additional $1 billion from 2028 to 2030 to enhance production capabilities, modernize facilities, incorporate technology, and develop sustainable processes.

This commitment builds on a previous $1 billion investment announced last year, focusing on projects like upgrading the Maggi factory in the state of Mexico and expanding the Nescafé plant in Veracruz.

Mexico accounts for 4% of Nestlé’s total sales, emphasizing its importance as one of the company’s key markets.

Fausto Costa, CEO of Nestlé Mexico, expressed confidence in Mexico’s economic potential, leading to this substantial investment.

Nestlé’s latest investment emphasizes supporting local agriculture and enhancing value chains with sustainable practices, particularly in the Nescafé brand.

Despite changing consumer trends, Nestlé continues to invest in strategic regions like Mexico to drive growth.

“We have witnessed significant growth in emerging markets,” stated Nestlé CFO Anna Manz during a conference with analysts.

Additionally, Nestlé has announced plans to expand its Nescafé facility in Thailand, invest in health and nutrition business in Brazil, and build a Purina production plant and logistics hub in Italy.
