Ghirardelli Introduces Packaged Cookies to its Sweet Lineup
Ghirardelli, known for its decadent chocolates, is now venturing into the world of cookies. The 174-year-old chocolate giant is launching packaged cookies in classic chocolate chip and double chocolate chip variations, with the latter featuring Ghirardelli chocolate chips as the star ingredient.
According to Bobby Oliver, vice president and head of marketing at Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, “Entering the cookie category marks an exciting new chapter for Ghirardelli and an important step in how we continue to grow the brand and be a part of consumers’ lives.”
The cookies are currently available on Ghirardelli’s website and will soon be hitting shelves at Kroger starting Oct. 11. The line will then expand to Walmart on Oct. 24 before making its way to other retailers nationwide in January.
With the launch of its cookies, Ghirardelli will be competing against other premium cookie brands like Mondelēz International’s Tate’s and Ferrero’s Famous Amos.
The U.S. cookie market is expected to see a slight decline in sales by 2026, but Ghirardelli remains optimistic about its entry into this space.
Ghirardelli, owned by Lindt & Sprüngli, has been experiencing strong sales growth and expansion in recent years. The brand has diversified its offerings beyond chocolates to include baking mixes and refrigerated cookie dough.
In 2025, Ghirardelli achieved a significant milestone by surpassing $1 billion in revenue for the first time, solidifying its position as a premium brand in the home baking market.
