Alfonso Gonzalez Loeschen has been appointed as the new CEO of Nespresso by Nestlé, filling the position left vacant by Philipp Navratil, who was tasked with overseeing the entire Swiss food and beverage company.
Gonzalez Loeschen, who has been leading Nespresso’s North American business since January 2020, will officially take on his new role on November 1st.
Navratil praised Gonzalez Loeschen’s expertise in the coffee industry, stating that his focus on results and ability to motivate teams will drive performance and execution within the company.
Last month, Nestlé removed CEO Laurent Freixe from his position after just a year, citing a romantic relationship with a subordinate. Navratil, who was leading Nespresso at the time, was chosen as his successor.
Gonzalez Loeschen’s career at Nestlé began in 1992 in Mexico, and he has since held various leadership roles across different regions, including Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the U.S.
Nespresso, a key division of Nestlé, reported sales of nearly $4 billion in the first half of 2025, marking a 5.8% increase from the previous year. The North American market saw strong double-digit sales growth during this period.
