Sazerac has recently acquired the renowned small batch spirits producer Western Son Vodka and Distillery based in Texas, marking a significant addition to their portfolio.
Known for its diverse range of flavored vodkas and gin distillation, Western Son’s acquisition complements Sazerac’s expanding vodka collection, following their previous purchase of Svedka Vodka from Constellation Brands in the previous year.
“This strategic move not only enhances our product range but also provides additional production capabilities to our network,” stated Sazerac CEO Jake Wenz in a press release, emphasizing the brand’s strong market presence.
The flavored spirits sector is projected to witness a 17.89% growth from 2025 to 2035, as per insights from Market Research Future, making Western Son an attractive asset for Sazerac’s expanding market presence.
Despite being headquartered in Kentucky and New Orleans, Sazerac’s recent focus on acquisitions has led them to Texas, with partnerships like Andrews Distributing for introducing three ready-to-drink brands in the region.
Sazerac’s recent collaboration with Andrews Distributing and acquisition of BuzzBallz from Texas further exemplifies their commitment to expanding their ready-to-drink offerings.
Notably, Western Son attracted interest from other companies, with reports of Splash Beverage considering an acquisition of Western Son’s owner JEM Beverage Management Company in 2023. However, the deal did not materialize.
