How spicy are the Chinese Green Beans?
These green beans have a moderate level of spiciness that adds a pleasant heat to the dish. If you prefer a spicier flavor, you can increase the amount of red pepper flakes. Conversely, if you prefer a milder taste, you can reduce or omit the red pepper flakes altogether.
Is it spelled Sichuan or Szechuan?
While perusing Chinese restaurant menus, I noticed that Szechuan is a common spelling in the United States. However, the correct English spelling for the southwestern Chinese province known for its spicy cuisine is Sichuan. Both spellings are acceptable, but I opted for the Americanized version since I reside in the U.S.
