I prefer thicker asparagus spears for roasting. If you can only find thin asparagus, you may want to reduce the cooking time by a few minutes.

For this recipe, I used fairly thick slices of ham to allow the ham to bake while the asparagus roasts on the sheet pan. However, when testing this recipe, the ham turned out juicy and delicious, so you could use slightly thinner ham slices if necessary. In the case of very thinly sliced ham, I recommend wrapping the ham in foil for the initial cooking time, then unwrapping it when adding the Parmesan cheese.

How to make Easy Cheesy Baked Ham and Asparagus:
