A New $475 Million Manufacturing Plant to Boost Growth and Sustainability Goals

Swire Coca-Cola, a leading producer and distributor of Coca-Cola products, has announced plans to open a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The $475 million facility, spanning 620,000 square feet, will be instrumental in helping the company achieve its growth targets and sustainability goals.

This cutting-edge bottling facility will produce over 230 beverages across 60 different brands, showcasing Swire Coca-Cola’s commitment to innovation and meeting consumer demand.

With construction set to begin in 2026, the new plant is expected to create 170 jobs in the region and will replace the company’s aging Denver facility. Swire Coca-Cola, headquartered in Utah, operates across 13 states in the Western U.S., serving a wide range of beverages to consumers.

As part of its sustainability efforts, Swire Coca-Cola aims to obtain LEED Gold Certification for the project, underscoring its dedication to reducing environmental impact and promoting eco-friendly practices.

“This significant investment underscores our dedication to the community, job creation, and advancing our manufacturing capabilities to ensure the continued success of our diverse beverage portfolio in Colorado,” stated Bryan Sink, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain at Swire Coca-Cola USA.

While the company initially planned to build the plant near Denver’s airport, the project faced setbacks earlier this year, leading to the decision to relocate to Colorado Springs. Despite challenges, Swire Coca-Cola remains committed to enhancing its production infrastructure and contributing to the local economy.

In a strategic move to drive profitability, Coca-Cola has transitioned its bottling operations to local partners, as evidenced by its recent acquisition of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa. The company’s latest earnings report reflects strong growth, with net revenue increasing by 5% to $12.5 billion, driven by a diverse product portfolio and strategic market expansion.
