Chomps, a rapidly growing brand, has announced plans to construct a second dedicated facility to produce meat sticks in response to the increasing demand for these convenient, protein-rich snacks.
The new 160,000-square-foot plant, located in Beatrice, Nebraska, is projected to have the capacity to manufacture up to 150 million meat sticks annually, boosting Chomps’ production capability by 15%.
Chomps reported earlier in the year that despite currently producing 2 million meat sticks per day, they were only able to fulfill 85% of their orders. With the new facility in place, they are now able to meet close to 95% of their orders, allowing them to cater to more retailers and focus on further innovation.
“The exceptional growth we’ve witnessed necessitates an increase in our production capacity to meet the consistently high demand for Chomps,” stated Rashid Ali, Chomps’ co-founder and CEO. “This new facility represents a significant strategic move that will enable us to grow purposefully, supporting our ongoing progress and future advancements.”
The anticipated opening of the site is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027, with approximately 150 job opportunities being created. Chomps is collaborating with Landmark Snacks, a co-manufacturing partner, for the development of the plant.
Chomps has positioned itself as the fastest-growing company in the meat sticks market, achieving a remarkable 161% year-over-year sales growth, surpassing the industry’s 16.1% growth rate. The company is on track to reach nearly $1 billion in sales this year, a significant increase from $50 million in 2019.
The establishment of the new plant not only enhances Chomps’ production volume but also enables accelerated innovation, expansion into new markets, and enhanced support for retail partners and direct-to-consumer customers.
Meat stick sales have witnessed a surge in response to consumer demands for protein-rich and convenient snacking options.
According to data from Circana, sales of dried meat snacks (excluding jerky) increased by 10.7% to $3.3 billion in 2024, with the category adding nearly $1.2 billion in sales since 2020.
