Chobani is set to launch its groundbreaking shelf-stable low-fat dairy milk product, Chobani Super Milk, designed to provide essential nutrition to individuals affected by natural disasters or food insecurity. This revolutionary product can last up to 9 months without refrigeration, making it ideal for emergency situations.
The company plans to produce an average of 145,000 pounds of Chobani Super Milk monthly, which will be distributed by the American Red Cross to local food banks and pantries in Central New York and Southern Idaho.
Becca Dittrich, Chobani’s vice president of impact, emphasized the importance of dairy as a highly requested food item among assistance networks for its nutrient-rich properties. However, the need for refrigeration can pose challenges in disaster-stricken areas or communities with limited refrigeration capacity.
