Chobani has announced its acquisition of plant-based food maker Daily Harvest, expanding its range of ready-to-make meals. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Daily Harvest, founded ten years ago, was one of the pioneers in delivering clean, nutritious food directly to customers’ doorsteps. Over the years, the company has grown its offerings to include meals and snacks available both online and in retail stores.

Chobani plans to leverage its expertise in manufacturing, distribution, and retail to make Daily Harvest products more accessible to households across the United States.

“These two brands share a common vision of providing high-quality, delicious food made with real ingredients to a wider audience,” stated Chobani and Daily Harvest in a joint statement.

While Chobani is well-known for its yogurt products, the company has been diversifying its portfolio through internal innovation and strategic acquisitions. In addition to developing oat milk and creamers internally, Chobani recently acquired ready-to-drink coffee manufacturer La Colombe for $900 million.

The addition of Daily Harvest’s organic smoothies, breakfast bowls, protein powders, and frozen meals will enhance Chobani’s mission of becoming a more comprehensive food company, offering consumers a wider range of healthy options throughout the day.

By acquiring Daily Harvest, Chobani will also enter the frozen food segment for the first time, expanding its presence beyond the dairy aisle in grocery stores.

Despite these expansions, Chobani remains committed to its dairy products, with recent investments totaling $1.7 billion in building a new dairy processing plant in New York and expanding production in Idaho.
