Key Lime Pie – Just 3 simple ingredients to make this delicious, sweet, tart and creamy pie!
In the summer I rely heavily on no bake desserts like Jello Pie or Avalanche Cookies, that are done in minutes! But there are some things that are worth turning the oven on for. Like this 3 ingredient key lime pie recipe. Key lime pie is one of my husband’s favorite desserts, and has been a staple in our house for years.

This recipe has been a staple in our house since we first got married. And it has been on the blog since the very early days. Today it is getting new life, and a significant upgrade in photos.
The filling for this key lime pie is 3 ingredients! You can use a pre-made graham cracker crust and really have this ready in no time. I am a sucker for a homemade crust, so I usually make one. And the recipe is included below.

What You’ll Need
Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for the FULL PRINTABLE recipe card.
- Key Lime Juice
- Sweetened Condensed Milk
- Egg Yolks
- Graham Cracker Crust
Most US grocery stores will carry Nelli & Jo’s Key Lime Juice, which is what I always use to make this pie. You can use fresh key limes and squeeze them if you can find them. But they aren’t usually available where I live.

How to Make Key Lime Pie
- Make Crust. Mix together crushed graham crackers, sugar and melted butter until well combined. Press mixture into a pie plate and bake for 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Make Filling. In a large bowl whisk together key lime juice, egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk until it is smooth and very well incorporated.
- Bake. Pour the filling into the pre-baked pie crust and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the pie from the oven, let it stand at room temperature for 10 minutes.
- Chill and Serve. After 10 minutes, place the pie in the fridge until it is chilled. Top with whipped cream if desired and slice to serve.

Recipe Tips & Tricks
- Feel free to use a store bought pie crust, it is a super easy shortcut that will still give you a delicious and creamy pie.
- Use key lime juice! Key lime juice and lime juice are different. You can make a lime pie or even a lemon pie with this recipe and it will be delicious. But key lime juice is just something slightly different and is what makes this pie special.
- I like to top with whipped cream for that sweet and tart flavor combination. You can make my Homemade Whipped Cream recipe that pairs perfectly with it. Or you can use the kind in a can from the store.
- Storage. Cover the pie and place it in the fridge for up to 4 days.
- No graham crackers? If you live in an place that doesn’t sell graham crackers you can use digestive biscuits to make the crust.
