Beyoncé partners with Moët Hennessy to launch SirDavis Whisky

Beyoncé has joined forces with luxury spirits giant Moët Hennessy to introduce a new whisky that pays homage to her family history.

SirDavis, a collaboration between Beyoncé and LVMH subsidiary Moët Hennessy, is a unique whisky product. The brand is named after Beyoncé’s great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, who was a moonshiner during Prohibition in the South.

According to a press release, Beyoncé, who is a fan of Japanese whisky, wanted to create a whisky of her own. The whisky, made up of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, is Moët Hennessy’s first offering developed entirely in the U.S.

“When I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a moonshine man, it felt like my love for whisky was fated,” Beyoncé said in a statement. “In partnering with Moët Hennessy, we have crafted a delicious American whisky that respects tradition but also empowers people to experience something new and unique in the category.”

SirDavis has already garnered recognition, winning Best In Class for American Whiskey at the 2023 SIP Awards and a Gold Medal at the 2023 New York International Spirits Competition.

This venture into the alcohol industry is not Beyoncé’s first foray into beverages. In 2022, she was a major investor in water brand Lemon Perfect’s $31 million Series A funding round.

Disco Disco revolutionizes coffee on-the-go

New coffee startup Disco Disco is revolutionizing the way coffee lovers enjoy their favorite beverage on-the-go. The company’s unique coffee packets come in a compartment inspired by vintage cigarette packaging, making brewing coffee on-the-go easier and more convenient.

Founder Ellie Eckert, who previously founded a roasting company, created Disco Disco after realizing the lack of quality coffee options during her travels. The company’s El Salvador blend offers notes of milk chocolate, dulce de leche, and pineapple, providing coffee enthusiasts with a premium on-the-go coffee experience.

The five-pack Disco Disco coffee packets are available on the brand’s website for $25. With a focus on sustainability and quality, Disco Disco aims to lead the “fourth wave coffee” movement driven by consumer demand for convenient and high-quality coffee options.
